Program Profile: Modeling | Home | |||
| Informal perspective about a program of study. |
How I Got Started: I have always been the girl with the bubbly personality and the eye for fashion. Getting dressed in the morning is like creating a work of art every day. When I was little I used to create original clothes for my dolls and have fashion shows for my friends. When I was older, I loved to buy fashion magazines and be the first in my school to wear “runway fashions.”
What I Want to Study: Modeling requires more than just good looks. In order to be successful, you must understand fashion trends and business practices. I plan to take classes in make-up, lighting, commercial print, and human anatomy. I will need to work with a photographer to create my “head shots” and I need to develop a modeling resume.
What I Can Do In The Future: As a model I could work in the fashion, art or entertainment industries. Working as an artist’ model, I might pose for artists and sculptors. Fashion models wear clothing, makeup, and accessories to promote sales. Some models work with photographers for commercial print projects in magazines, newspapers, catalogs or brochures. Or I might work as a product promoter at conventions demonstrating new products.
