Program Profile: Real Estate Home

Informal perspective about a program of study.

How I Got Started: When my house went up for sale, a real estate agent came and took people through the house to see if they wanted to buy it. Likewise, I would go with my parents to other people’s homes to see if we wanted to buy theirs. Our real estate agent was very knowledgeable. She knew lots of specific information about the house, which included size, age, and the number of bathrooms and bedrooms. She also knew what high school I would go to if we decided to buy a house. I was so interested in real estate in high school that I took business classes.

What I Want to Study: To prepare to study real estate in college, I should enroll in the following classes, real estate finance, real estate law, real estate appraisal, and real estate practices. I want to be the best real estate agent possible, so I am going to take any important related class!

What I Can Do In The Future: It is important to get licensed by the state so I can use my real estate knowledge. Once I am licensed, I am able to sell homes. Or, if I would like, I could be an appraiser and estimate how much homes are worth. Another option is to be a property manager and be in charge of an apartment complex.
